Q&A
How long have you been gaming?
I have been gaming for most of my life. I remember playing Atari for the first time and seeing the controller and loving the experience I had with it. Then it eventually moved onto Nintendo and etc.
What was your first gaming experience like?
I’m not sure what age I was, but I remember it was my birthday and my mom gave me money to buy a game from the store below our apartment. At the time Sega was huge so I went downstairs and bought myself Street Fighter 2. The first character I played and beat the game with was Chun-Li. Once I beat the game I tried to take it back but couldn’t. That day, I learned how the real world worked.

What systems do you own?
I currently own Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 for the current generation systems. But stuffed in my closet, I have Nintendo 64, Sega, Gamecube, and a broken Nintendo (Don’t we all.)
If you had to choose between Mario or Sonic? Who would you choose?
Well, that is a tough choice. I grew up with both. But I would have to say Mario because Sonic was more of my brother’s guy.
What is your favorite game current and past?
My current favorite game has to be Mass Effect 3. Mostly because it blew my exceptions out of the water. I believe that it is the best game of all the series. It’s an experience that everyone must try out. If you say its bad, I know you are lying and don’t have a soul. My favorite game of the past has to be Streets of Rage, being rookie cops kicking butt, and all of a sudden getting powers in the third installment was always the best for me.
What tips would you give to a new comer to gaming?
My tip would be find a simple game first. Maybe a plat former, try and find a game that interest you and go for it. Then after that put the difficulty on the hardest thing possible. Yeah that’s it.

Patrice Juneau, @Superskullz1 Graphics Designer

I am an artist by trade going back many years, in many forms of mediums. Started off as a classical artist then tried murals and ended doing tattoos for six years. Needing to move on, I fell upon digital art, adding my love of computers to the equation and I was home. I still spend some time painting and sculpting but my true love still seems to be the manipulation of graphic data. I met UGR’s Prez by coincidence and it seemed like the perfect opportunity to share my artwork…best decision yet!!! What surprised me was my love for not only the medium but the environment. Gamers rock! They are willing to share, help, participate and always willing to fight for what they believe in.

Q&A

How Long have you been gaming?
Since I was introduced to a little golden cartridge on the N64
What was your first gaming experience like?
My first gaming experience was a mix of Mario 64, Bomb-Bomb, Battlefield, Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time’s forest temple and Pokemon Red
. I remember it so vividly.
What systems do you own?
I currently own an xbox 360, Wii, PS2 and 3DS. Hope to have a Wii u at launch.
If you had to choose between Mario or Sonic? Who would you choose?
Link……Link always wins…..
What is your favorite game?
The Legend of Zelda : Ocarina of Time is most likely my favorite game of all time. If not Ocarina then Twilight Princess or Skyward Sword. The Zelda franchise is as close to perfection as we can get. It’s a franchise that has remained at the forefront of the gaming industry for a quarter of a century.
What tips who you give to a new comer to gaming?
Start with Nintendo. When I say Nintendo, I mean first party franchises like Zelda, Mario, Metroid, Pokemon and on. I feel it truly gives value to what gaming is, as opposed to a 12 year old starting with call of duty and being the most disrespectful thing since the cdi zelda games….

Cameron Zoldak, @Zoldak88, Host/Producer of “Gamer Chat Weekly”/ All Purpose Media Man

My name is Cameron Zoldak, I have been a gamer since I laid my hands on a copy of pong for the Atari. I love my PC dearly and my xbox 360. I have a weird obsession with Resident Evil, it’s to the point that I actually wear a T-Virus vial around my neck. I love media! I write, photograph, produce, edit, and publish anything media. I write web code, I add effects to video and I manipulate photos. One day I hope to make it big doing something with media whether it’s writing and producing with UGR or something else down the road. I would also love to attend E3 at some point in my life. Not much as about me other then I’m crazy!

Q & A

How Long have you been gaming?

Since birth! In all honesty probably when I was like 5 and I played DOOM on windows 95 haha.

What was your first gaming experience like?

My first game was pong boop boop boop..but I consider my first gaming experience was DOOM. I loved it. It did not require aiming or reflexes it was a point and shoot. My grandpa used to give me god mode, and I thought I was the best! I still think that sometimes.

What systems do you own?

High end PC, 360, wii. 3DS, gaming laptop, atari, PS2

If you had to choose between Mario or Sonic? Who would you choose?

Mario, because he is my dude. If I have a bad day, nothing is better then curb stomping goombas!

What is your favorite game?

Anything Resident Evil….number 2 was the best IMO.

What tips would you give to a new comer to gaming?

Don’t be discouraged by the elitist. They are everywhere and your mother will be brought up in convos many times. The mute button is the best thing in multiplayer. Just keep an open mind and give everything a chance.

Michael Robinson, @SavagingDolphin, Game Researcher/ Game Reviewer
I’m a 17 year old boy who enjoys has a love for a few things in life, Games, Aviation, the WWE, my friends, family and co-workers and making new friends. My father was in the RAF and brought me up loving aircraft, so I often go to airshows; I love gaming in general, all aspects of it, and I hope one day I can go and report all across the world for UGR as we grow larger.
Q&A
How Long have you been gaming?
I’ve been gaming for many years, I can’t remember exactly when I started, but when I first got my PS1, that helped create the gamer I am today.

What was your first gaming experience like?

I can’t remember my first exactly, but two memories that stick out in my mind was when all my family came together to play Everybody’s Golf on the PS1, and I remember working together (and often arguing!) with my sister trying to get through all the Crash Bandicoot games, from CTR to Warped, we played all on the PS1 till we completed them all.

What systems do you own?

I own an Xbox 360, a PS3, PS2 and 1, a Wii, a PC, a PSP, a Gameboy Colour, and somewhere tucked away I have a SNES and an N64.

If you had to choose between Mario or Sonic? Who would you choose?
Whichever I pick, I have a feeling I’d get harsh judgement from lots of gamers haha, urm, well I’m not the biggest fan of either, my sister always beat me at Super Mario Land on the Gameboy, and I could never get past the second or third level, and she could and she always rubbed it in my face, but with Sonic I never really got into the games, but I loved his TV program, I have a few VHS cassettes somewhere, so if I had to pick, I’d probably just run away…
What is your favorite game?
Ace Combat, the entire series, maybe not so much Assault Horizon, it was good, but it was made clearly just to please CoD lovers, but I loved them all, and I can’t pick one, I’d say number 6 left the biggest impact on me.
What tips would you give to a new comer to gaming?
To a newcomer eh? We all start off somewhere kid, if you play something like CoD and you aren’t very good, and people say bad to you, don’t listen to it, you just need to keep practising and you will get better, that’s a promise, just like for any game, if you’re struggling, keep at it, and you’ll get there in the end, that’s how I completed every Call of Duty on Veteran, though I wanted to punch WaW in the face after cause all they do is spam grenades, but I still did it! Oh yeah, the question, but believe in yourself and you can be the best in the world if you set your mind to it.
